The story of GBC has been an exciting one. When a few of us started to pray for our community in the summer of 1996, we couldn't imagine what God would do. We had nothing but a sense of the Lord's leading and doors started to open and prayers were answered in some amazing ways.

OUR STORY SO FAR...
We started with 7 founding members and began by meeting in the Jubilee hall, a Nissen hut on Station Road, based on a First World War design, which was erected in 1978. Trevor Ramsey faithfully preached and teached from God’s Word from the beginning of the church until he felt God call him to another church in September 2010. From small beginnings, the church has grown considerably and we acquired the local health centre, which we converted, renovated and opened in September 2000 as our first permanent home. Who could have thought such a thing would be possible in 1996? Yet it is God's work, not ours. "The Lord has done this and it is marvellous in our eyes." (Psalm 118v23)

The church is made up of people from all walks of life - employed and unemployed, single parents, married couples, young and old(er). Relationships have been built and friendships have been formed through the church, where we encourage real relationships with spiritual depth - our growth is not measured by numbers but by the spiritual growth of our members as they develop and mature in Jesus.

Today, our church continues to grow with more and more people finding Greenisland Baptist as their spiritual home. This increase in numbers has enabled us develop many new ministries that help us to engage with our community and show God’s love for them.

As a church we look to the future with a sense of excitement and expectancy as God continues to develop our members and His work in Greenisland.
