Youth

Youth ministry at GBC is rooted in the truth that all of creation has been made by and, for God. Everything He has called into existence has been to display and bring glory to Himself. As human beings created in the image of God, we find joy, meaning, beauty, identity, security and our ultimate purpose in doing the same. All that we seek to do as a youth ministry emerges from this reality.

This is our DNA. THE VISON

Our vision is to see young people shaped by the Gospel, pursuing deep relationships with Christ, with an increasing knowledge of and love for the bible, who live life on mission wherever they are. In short, our prayer is that in all of our ministries, young people

Discover, Desire and Display God.

Discover God.
Each week we will confront our young people with the God of the bible. We want them to see, understand, and be inspired by a vision of God as He truly is. We want them to discover His glory. We want them to grasp the significance of Christ and be clear about what it means to follow Him.

Desire God
On the journey of discovering God, our prayer is that our young will begin to desire and pursue a deep relationship with Him. That they might become genuine and passionate disciples of Jesus Christ who desire to grow in holiness, obedience, and knowledge. We seek to develop and equip young people whose lives are marked by a thoroughly biblical worldview, who find their identity, value, direction, hope and security in God and who they are in Christ.

Display God
As our young people engage with the Bible, it's our desire that they would then apply truth of it to their everyday lives. That they would become young people who effectively and authentically display God to those who have not yet discovered or desire Him. We are determined to create an environment where every young person is welcomed, respected, valued and loved. We want to create a safe place to ask questions, where it's ok to struggle and yet continually call them to higher standards of holiness in their character and behaviour. We want to continually recognise and reaffirm that youth ministry is not separate from, but rather part of the wider church and that what we do is not designed to compete with but complements the vision of GBC as a whole. The vision for our youth ministry as a whole can be summed up in the words of Psalm 145:4: One generation will commend Your works to another, and shall declare your might acts.
