CAP June Update

Fund raising dinner

May was a very busy month with over 60 hampers being delivered to families, singles and seniors in the local area. The Help Yourself table continues to be of great benefit to local people, as we continue to collect perishable food from local supermarkets and put it at the front door of our church for people to help themselves.

We have new clients coming on board with cap every month and it's such a blessing to be able to meet new clients face to face at the church when possible.  Hopefully as regulations are relaxed a bit more over the next few months, we will be able to resume home visits.  Face to face meetings are so important, especially when meeting clients for the first time because it gives us an opportunity to pray with them in person.  We have been rejoicing because three clients have come to faith in Jesus since April. Our God is so good!!! Please pray for these clients as they start their journey with God.

We were really blessed in May 2020 when Mayor Peter Johnston chose CAP as one of his Charities for the year.  Peter has been a great encouragement to us all as we have endeavoured to meet the needs of cap clients and locals during the Covid 19 crisis.  As the Mayor's term came to an end earlier this week, we were blessed to be able to join Peter at the town hall in Carrick for an informal lunch a few weeks ago. Then we got to help him finish off His year in style at The Mayor's Fundraising Dinner at the Galgorm on the 4th June 2021.  i had been nominated by the Larne and Ballymena cap centre managers to do the CAP talk at the event.  I’m so glad that no one told me in advance that Edwin Poots and Ian Paisley Jnr would be in the audience (so I didn’t have time for my nerves to kick in).

Any monies raised over the past year will be divided between Carrick, Larne & Ballymena CAP Centres and also The Royal Irish Regiment Benevolent fund (the mayors 2nd charity). There was no one from their charity at the event on Saturday night, however they did send their Mascot Brian Boru, and a fine specimen of a dog he is indeed.

PRAYER POINTS:
Give thanks to God for His ongoing goodness and provision.
Give thanks to God that another client came to faith last week!! She recently started attending Carrick Baptist church.
This is actually Volunteer recognition Week!! So a massive thanks to all of our volunteers….I couldn't do my job without you! God bless you all.

Pray that we will be able to encourage our new clients and that God will draw them close to Himself.
Pray for me as I take some time off in June to enjoy some time with family and friends. It's been a long non-stop 14 months and my poor feet need a wee rest.
Pray for our CAP Sunday which is taking place on Sunday 20th June 2021 at 7pm. Don’t forget to book your seat as it’s going to be an amazing night with a client sharing his story and lots of updates!! We have so much to thank God for, so please join us that night.

Love & blessings
