Greenisland Community Fridge

Open Tuesday & Thursdays 10am - Noon

The Greenisland Community Fridge was opened by the Mayor of Mid & East Antrim, Cllr William McCaughey on 17th May 2022.  This is the fourth Community Fridge to be opened in the Mid & East Antrim Area to date supporting the community, especially during the cost of living crisis, and helping to redistribute surplus food supplied by local supermarkets that would otherwise go to waste.

Anyone in the community can avail of the Fridge which is located in the courtyard between Greenisland Community Centre and Greenisland Baptist Church.

The Fridge has been possible with support from the Department for Communities Covid-19 Food Partnership and Mid & East Antrim Borough Council, with volunteers managing the day to day running of the fridge

Nancy Givens from GBC, is the Volunteer Community Fridge manager, and along with other volunteers will open the fridge on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10am to noon (subject to availability).
