A series for summer 2014 in 1 Corinthians 13.

1 Corinthians 13 is a very well known passage, often read at weddings as a celebration of love. But if we are honest this chapter often reads like a list of lofty ideals, which more often than not just confront us with how unloving and unlovable we really are. Love may not fail but we do, we fail at love constantly!

summer '14 we will be working through each attribute of love that Paul speaks about in 1 Corinthians 13, and discovering how this text is much more than a set of ideals, it’s actually a portrait of person. True love is manifest for us in the life and ministry of Jesus (who is love in the flesh). When we truly embrace the incarnate love of Jesus; we not only get a greater sense of assurance in terms of how loved we really are; we also get a greater sense of understanding in terms of how we as his followers can effectively love others.
